چکیده

Over the last years, aeronautic industry has changed under the effects of the European market and globalisation. In particular, it is crucial to reduce aircraft development cost and lead time in order to be competitive on the market while ensuring a high level of safety. In parallel to these economic objectives, the aeronautic growth foreseen in the two next decades leads to deliver an important number of aircrafts per year inducing strong industrialisation constraints. These economic and industrial drivers have a strong impact on all the phases of the aircraft development process. Consequently, the industrial practises shall evolve making research and innovation crucial to aeronautics further development and conducive to European competitiveness.

Coordination and Collaboration Environments for Production Lines: a User Acceptance Issue

The Airbus Visual Line (AVL) project, now deployed on the A380 assembly line, was propelled by the desire to foster collaboration and coordination among aeronautical Final Assembly Line teams while going beyond the simplistic – repressive concept of “andon boards” (Monden, 1993). We introduced an environment composed of large public displays and semi-public interfaces to support this collaborat...

Aeronautical Communication Systems as Potential Primary Users in Secondary Spectrum Access

Secondary spectrum access emerges as a means to increase spectrum utilization significantly in a near future. However, the technical availability and the economic value of the secondary access have not been fully investigated. Particularly, the impact of the secondary access on the real-life primary systems remains mostly unaddressed. Among the primary systems of interest are aeronautical commu...

Applying Model-Driven Paradigm: CALIPSOneo Experience

Model-Driven Engineering paradigm is being used by the research community in the last years, obtaining suitable results. However, there are few practical experiences in the enterprise field. This paper presents the use of this paradigm in an aeronautical PLM project named CALIPSOneo currently under development in Airbus. In this context, NDT methodology was adapted as methodology in order to be...

Development of a Design Procedure for Aeronautical Structures Based on Reliability

In this paper, an approach to aeronautical structural design based on reliability analysis is presented. In this way, the concept of level of safety is discussed and methods of its calculation using statistical data are described. Based on the concept of level of safety, a design procedure is proposed. In order to validate this design procedure, two design cases are studied. In the first case s...
